Chelsea set to attempt cut-price Victor Osimhen transfer in August

Chelsea are planning to try and sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in August for a lower transfer fee. 

Although they recently signed young forward Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, Chelsea are still searching for an experienced striker to lead their attack. Victor Osimhen is one of their top targets.

According to journalist Serdar Ali Celikler, Chelsea will attempt to buy Osimhen for less than the £63 million that Napoli are currently asking. 

Turkish club Galatasaray are also interested in Osimhen, but the Nigerian striker is focused on staying in top European leagues and is not considering a move to Turkey.

Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, reportedly does not see Osimhen as part of his future plans. 

Osimhen himself is looking for a new challenge, and Napoli may be open to lowering their asking price later in the summer transfer window.

If Chelsea succeed in signing Osimhen, Galatasaray may turn their attention to Chelsea’s current striker Nicolas Jackson as an alternative option.

Right now, Chelsea are not rushing to buy another striker because they already signed Liam Delap. 

But bringing in a proven goal-scorer like Osimhen would give manager Enzo Maresca more options and firepower in attack. 

Chelsea are also working on signing new wingers, defenders, and a goalkeeper. They previously tried to sign goalkeeper Mike Maignan without success and are now in talks to sign Jamie Gittens, showing that more signings could still happen.
